As we enter March, a month of reflection and togetherness, we are excited to share this edition of the Dialogue Society newsletter. With Ramadan started, our focus turns to bringing communities together through Dialogue Iftars and the IftarMe initiative. Whether by attending a Dialogue Iftar in your city or sharing a meal with a local family through IftarMe, there are plenty of opportunities to connect, learn, and experience the spirit of Ramadan.
This month’s highlights include:
Dialogue Iftars Across the UK: Under the theme “Voices in Unity,” these events from Brighton to Newcastle will unite people for conversations and shared meals.
IftarMe – Welcoming Guests into Our Homes: IftarMe invites families to open their doors and share the fast-breaking experience with neighbours of all backgrounds. If you’d like to join, visit www.iftar.me/apply.
Scriptural Reasoning: A look back at our recent gathering, where people from different faiths explored themes of hospitality and compassion.
Awards Recognition: We are thrilled to be shortlisted for Best Charity of the Year in the Thames Valley Region—a testament to the power of dialogue in building stronger communities.
As we embrace this season of renewal and reflection, we invite you to join us in fostering understanding and unity. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
Wishing you a meaningful and peaceful Ramadan,
The Dialogue Society Team
Dialogue Iftars

How would you like to experience an iftar with your Muslim neighbours?
Inspired by the word “iftar”- a fast-breaking meal, IftarMe involves families preparing delicious meals for their guests at iftar, with whom they will then share the fast-breaking experience.
So “How can I participate?” I hear you ask!
If you would like to join, please fill in the form in the website below. You will be put in touch with a host family that will warmly welcome you!
Life of a Chickpea
The BBC has featured Dialogue Society in their article: “Diversity schools project to expand after BBC win” Learn how our initiative Life of a Chickpea is making a difference and growing to reach more schools. Read the full story by clicking the picture down below!

We had amazing Life of a Chickpea sessions at Chilwell Croft Academy in Birmingham, East Oxford Primary School and Oasis Academy Shirley Park in Croydon. Students explored British values through interactive storytelling, and had chance to meet with various community leaders from different faith and backgrounds and had a taste of Noah’s Pudding for the very first time!

Scriptural Reasoning
On 26 February, we gathered for an inspiring evening of Scriptural Reasoning at St. Mary’s Church. Hosted by the Dialogue Society, the event explored hospitality across faiths, fostering connection and reflection.
