The Dialogue Society attended the Fabian New Year conference where Ed Miliband MP, leader of the Labour party gave the keynote speech embarking upon a fundamental review of the party’s policies for the New Year. The conference was initiated by The Fabian Society, Britain’s biggest centre-left think tank. The day-long conference held at the Institute of Education saw 900 delegates debate whether a ‘next left’ movement could build the majority coalition needed by the Labour Party. The Dialogue Society met a number of MPs, Lords and journalists including Chucka Ummuna MP, private secretary to Ed Miliband. The event was a valuable opportunity to explain the Dialogue Society’s work and enter into dialogue with policy makers.
