Where: Wisdom School, London
The Dialogue Society facilitated the visit of nine first year students of Bisshop Grosseteste University College, an independent Anglican higher education institution and some of its staff to Wisdom Primary and Secondary School in London on 31st January 2008. The nine students, all studying to become RE teachers were accompanied on the visit by Mark Platter, Senior Lecturer at the College and Ms Tracey Byrne, Chaplaincy Assistant.
The evening began with a traditional Turkish dinner catered by Wisdom School, followed by a tour of the newly renovated grade II listed Victorian school building by Headteacher Mr. Ramazan Guveli. This was followed by a presentation to the group by Ozcan Keles, Director of the Dialogue Society, about the Society’s current activities and future projects. Each guest was then presented with a gift pack.
Mark Platter expressed his gratitude at the hospitality shown by Wisdom School and hoped that they would be able to develop further links and exchange programmes between the school and Bishop Grosseteste University College. He also thanked Mr. Keles and the Dialogue Society for its proactive efforts in organising and facilitating the meeting.
