Chief Inspector Dave Padwick has 28 years police service, having started in 1986 as a fresh faced Special Constable in Hampshire Constabulary stationed at Basingstoke. He joined the Metropolitan Police in April 1988 and after completing basic training at Hendon Police College he was posted to Leman Street Police Station, Whitechapel working on uniform patrol, divisional crime squad and the divisional vice squad.
Between 1993 and 1997 he worked on the Territorial Support Group for North and North West London and was Level 1 PSU trained. During the European Championships in 1996 he was seconded to the organised hooligan and football related crime team.
He was transferred to Sussex Police in February 1997, on promotion to Sergeant, and was posted to Newhaven Patrol and then Lewes Community team. In November 2001 he was promoted to Inspector and posted to Eastbourne Patrol, Lewes NPT Inspector, Ops 1 FCC, Public Order training team, ANPRU and DI CTIU Ports.
He was posted to Brighton as a Temporary Chief Inspector in January 2014 leading NRT and RIT with additional responsibility for Mental Health and Customer Satisfaction.
Chief Inspector Padwick has completed and been awarded BSc (Hons) Policing and Police Studies and an MSc in Criminal Justice Studies from Portsmouth University.
