Social Work academic at Coventry University
Gurnam Singh is Social Work academic at Coventry University. Additionally, he is a broadcast journalist and human rights activist. He he was awarded a PhD from the University of Warwick in 2004 in with a thesis on ‘anti-racist social work’. His teaching and research interests centre on critical pedagogy, ‘race’, racism and anti-racism, human rights and social justice and he has published widely on all these and related issues in leading academic journals. In 2009 in recognition of his contribution to Higher Education he was awarded a prestigious National Teaching Fellowship from the UK Higher Education Academy.
