He left House of Leonard 2 years later in 1976 under the tutelage of John Frieda to work at the John Frieda Clifford Stafford salon in Marylebone.
Since opening his first eponymous salon in 1991 in Mayfair, the London born and bred hairdresser has expanded his empire to include salons in Birmingham and Manchester and a globally successful haircare brand. His passion for hairdressing has made Nicky Clarke an international icon with an OBE awarded in 2008 in recognition of his services to the British hairdressing industry.
