Dean of Newcastle St. Nicholas' Cathedral
The Very Revd Lee Batson has been Dean of Newcastle, leading the work of the City’s Church of England Cathedral, since October 2023. He has been a Church of England priest for over twenty years, all of which was spent in Essex until two years ago. He has been active in building partnerships with a range of other bodies working in the public square – from local authorities, business networks, the police and charities. He spent six years promoting greater understanding between different strands of the Christian tradition, and has actively engaged in the interfaith space since arriving in Newcastle – a particular highlight of each year being the Iftar that is hosted in the Cathedral
