Talgat Z. Zhussipbek

Talgat Zhussipbek is a PhD candidate in the Department of Education, University of Sheffield, and supervised by Professor Pat Sikes. He is funded by Center for International Programs ‘Bolashak’ of Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. His research field explores the gender-segregated and coed schools of educational system in Kazakhstan.

He achieved his Master’s degree at Suleyman Demirel University and Bachelor’s degree at Kostanay State Pedagogical Institute in foreign languages department (English, Turkish and French).

Currently he is Deputy Principal for educational affairs at Nazarbayev Intellectual School (NIS). Before working at NIS he has taught English at Kazakh-Turkish high schools for almost 4 years. His experience at single-sex schools stirred him up to do research related to those schools.
