Dr Marie Macey is a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Applied Social Research, University of Bradford. Her main research interests centre around ethnicity, gender and religion. Marie has worked with academic colleagues and local organisations/community groups on projects funded by the Centre for Public Scrutiny, the Department of Communities and Local Government [1. Faiths in Action, 2. The Interfaith Network, 3. Neighbourhood Renewal], the Economic and Social Research Council, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence. Marie published booklets/monographs, chapters in books and articles in international, national and overseas journals and is on the Advisory Board of The Pakistan Journal of Women’s Studies. Her recent publications include: Negotiating Boundaries? Identities, Sexualities, Diversities (2007); Multiculturalism, Religion and Women: Doing Harm by Doing Good? (2009) and Ethnic, Racial and Religious Inequalities: The Perils of Subjectivity (2010) [with A.Carling]
