Nina Wadia is a British actress who played Zainab Masood in Eastenders from 2007 to 2013. She starred alongside Sanjeev Bhaskar, Meera Syal and Kulvinder Ghir in the hit sketch comedy Goodness Gracious Me and her many TV credits also include Waking the Dead, Skins and the TV adaptation of White Teeth by Zadie Smith. She has also had roles in films including Bend it Like Beckham, I Can’t Think Straight and the Bollywood film Namaste London.
Nina was born in India in 1969. Her family lived in Mumbai, in a one-bedroom flat which regularly flooded during the monsoon. They moved to Hong Kong when she was nine.
She is married to the Canadian composer Raiomond Mirza and they have two children.
