    Yasmin Valli is a Principal Lecturer and Teacher Fellow at Leeds Metropolitan University. Before taking up her current position, she was an advisory teacher for Information Technology in Lancashire. She has taught on the undergraduate, postgraduate, MA and in-service training courses and was a Route Leader for the ICT with English Route. In her current role as Principal Lecturer, she is the coordinator for widening participation for the Carnegie Faculty of Sport and Education and Level Leader for the final year students on the teaching programme. She is also involved in a national project to establish a website http://www.teacherworld.org.uk/. She was recently awarded a fellowship of the National Teaching Awards Trust. She is a member of the Higher Education Academy and reviews editor for the International Journal of Teacher Development. In 2004 she was involved in a ’Role Model’ project with the Royal Society.
