Avenue Primary Academy

A Life of a Chickpea event was held at Avenue Primary Academy by the Dialogue Society Sutton branch, welcoming around 130 pupils for an engaging intercultural experience. The session introduced key themes of faith, values and shared traditions, encouraging curiosity and respectful dialogue among students.

Guest speakers Simon Ellingham from the Christian community and Michael Freedman from the Jewish community shared valuable insights, offering children the opportunity to learn about different beliefs and perspectives in an inclusive environment. The interactive nature of the event supported meaningful engagement and broadened understanding.

The programme concluded with the sharing of Noah’s Pudding, which the children greatly enjoyed. This traditional treat provided a memorable and symbolic ending, reinforcing the importance of sharing, community spirit and friendship across cultures.
