On 23 May, Sutton, Cheam Common Junior Academy hosted an engaging Life of a Chickpea event for around 250 pupils from Years 5 and 6. This hands-on workshop used the chickpea as a starting point for rich discussions on faith, identity, and shared values.
With insightful contributions from a Muslim speaker and a local police representative, the session promoted reflection on British values such as mutual respect, inclusivity, and understanding. The event provided a valuable opportunity to build empathy and celebrate the connections between culture and community.
We extend our sincere thanks to the students for their excellent engagement and thoughtful contributions throughout the day.
